Orchitech Comes of Age: 18 Years of Evolution from Identity Startup to International IAM Projects

18. February 2026 | Press release

PRAGUE, 19.2.2026 – Since its founding in 2008, Orchitech has established itself as a premier specialist in Identity and Access Management (IAM). This February, the company celebrates its 18th anniversary. During this time, Orchitech has deployed and provided long-term support for IAM solutions across dozens of organizations in the Czech Republic and abroad, including a global platform for the ISIC Association managing over 20 million cardholders across scores of countries.

IAM: The Secure Foundation for the Future

Identity & Access Management – encompassing identity lifecycle management, identity governance, and Customer IAM (CIAM) – has been the backbone of Orchitech’s mission for 18 years.

IAM enables organizations to maintain rigorous control over access rights, streamline approval workflows, and ensure “audit-ready” transparency, while simultaneously simplifying day-to-end operations such as onboarding, role changes, and offboarding.

“Our vision is to transform the identity and access landscape into a secure foundation for the future of modern organizations. This requires more than just deploying a tool; it requires guiding the client through a fundamental shift in their security posture,” says Martin Čížek, CEO of Orchitech. “We act as a partner from the initial feasibility study through implementation to long-term development and support. We aren’t just a vendor who installs software and leaves the rest to the client.”

Proven Expertise Across Diverse Sectors

Orchitech boasts a long-standing track record across a variety of verticals – ranging from public administration and academia to telecommunications, banking, and healthcare. The company maintains a long-term partnership with the operator O2, and in the banking sector, has delivered key projects for institutions like Air Bank.

Ondřej Šňupárek, IT Division Director at Air Bank, praised the company’s technical prowess and agility in reacting to project shifts. The operational impact is equally significant in the education sector; Ing. Jan Marek of the University of South Bohemia noted: “We are now handling 80% fewer manual requests.”

ISIC and Global Scalability

For over 15 years, Orchitech has served as the technology partner for the ISIC Global Office. The company manages a global platform for more than 20 million ISIC cardholders, integrating hundreds of student benefits and the systems of national partners in dozens of countries.

Orchitech’s international reach extends beyond this flagship project, assisting various foreign entities in modernizing their infrastructure and implementing secure, scalable identity management on an international scale.

Wren Security and the Open-Source Legacy

A key moment in the company’s history was its active role in the creation and development of the Wren Security platform. This initiative maintains the continuity of the OpenIDM and OpenAM open-source products previously managed by ForgeRock. After development of these tools was discontinued in 2016, Orchitech became a key supporter of Wren Security. Through tools like Wren:IDM, Wren:AM, Wren:ICF, Wren:DS, and Wren:IG, Orchitech ensures technological continuity and innovation for both local and international implementations.

Navigating NIS2 and Modern Compliance

Orchitech is now leveraging its deep IAM experience to prepare clients for the EU’s NIS2 Directive. The focus remains on robust access control, approval workflows, and immutable audit trails.

“We design solutions that not only satisfy legislative and audit requirements but are also operationally sustainable in the long run. We achieve this long-term sustainability and cost-efficiency even with highly customized client solutions,” adds Martin Čížek.
