Is your implementation of Identity Management processes outdated and configuration adjustments difficult to implement?
Does your system vendor charge per identity?
The University of South Bohemia has found a solution – Switch to Wren:IDM!
Customized and seamless new system
Orchitech won the tender and delivered a solution based on Wren:IDM, the open-source successor to OpenIDM.
The flexibility of Wren:IDM also allowed for the easy implementation of requirements specific to the university environment, including a fully customized user interface for more than 15 thousand active identities. IdM draws data from five source systems and is connected to eight managed systems.
5 source systems:
- IS/STAG study agenda system
- EGJE personnel system
- Lifelong learning system
- Card system
- Building and room registers
8 managed systems
- Active Directory
- LDAP
- Aleph
- DB
- RADIUS LDAP
- …
Implementation scope
- processes for password synchronization
- merging duplicate identities
- identity shredding
- processes for grace periods
- management of guest identities
- enforcement of default password change
- corporate email management
- personal email management
“We now have a completely new system that is more reliable, faster, more predictable, and easier to recover in case of failures. Whether it’s catching up on changes from the source system or verifying and reconciling the state in the target system (e.g., LDAP, AD). Wren:IDM won us over with its speed and reliability.According to the RT system, we now handle 80% fewer requests. The remaining 20% are mostly just forgotten passwords.“
