Modern identity management is an important part of healthcare digitalisation, says Orchitech

Prague, 8 June 2026 – Orchitech attended the INMED – Digitalisation of Czech Healthcare conference on 4 – 5 June 2026 as an exhibitor. During the event, the company presented its experience in identity and access management within healthcare organisations.

Healthcare digitalisation is bringing new opportunities to hospitals, outpatient clinics, laboratories and other healthcare facilities. At the same time, it is increasing demands on security, user account administration and access rights management. Healthcare organisations are working with a growing number of systems, applications, roles, external partners and connected services. This is why centralised identity and access management, known as IDM/IGA, is becoming increasingly important.

“In healthcare, it is essential that security measures do not complicate the delivery of care itself. Properly configured IDM/IGA helps ensure that healthcare professionals, administrative staff, external workers and suppliers have access only to the systems and data they need for their work, and only for as long as necessary,” says Martin Čížek, CEO of Orchitech.

Identity management is particularly important when new employees join an organisation, when job roles change, when temporary cover is required, when working with external partners, or when employment ends. If these processes are handled manually, IT departments face a higher administrative burden, a greater risk of outdated access rights, and a more complex process when preparing materials for audits.

IDM/IGA enables access management to be automated according to clearly defined rules, roles and approval processes. This gives organisations a clear overview of who has access to what, why they have that access, who approved it, and when it should be removed. This is important from the perspective of cyber security, the protection of sensitive healthcare data, GDPR, the requirements of the Cyber Security Act and the NIS2 Directive.

According to Orchitech, as the digital transformation of healthcare continues, secure identity and access management will become an increasingly important part of healthcare organisations’ cyber resilience.
